Dr. Shailaja Prashanth: Pediatrician & Passionate Artist
“In Indian art, the divine is not depicted—it is evoked.” — From the philosophy of Dhvani and Rasa theory
🖌️ About Dr’s Paint Brush: Where Healing Meets Heritage Dr. Shailaja Prashanth—a devoted pediatrician and passionate artist based in Mysuru, Karnataka, India, a hub of traditional Indian craftsmanship—infuses every brushstroke with heart and heritage. Inspired by her creatively gifted mother, her love for painting began early and flourished during her medical career in the UK, where she found renewed joy in art.
Upon returning to Mysuru, Dr. Shailaja immersed herself in mastering renowned Indian traditional art forms, including Mysore painting, Tanjore, Ganjifa, Kerala Mural, and Pattachitra. These culturally rich styles—each with deep roots in India’s artistic history—form the essence of her work and reflect her mission to preserve and promote Indian folk and classical art forms, especially in urban settings where they often go unnoticed.
Her journey has led to successful exhibitions, warm community appreciation, and a growing portfolio of handcrafted art pieces that showcase the beauty of Indian heritage through painting. At Dr’s Paint Brush, we invite you to explore this vibrant tapestry of culture, craftsmanship, and creativity—where every artwork is a tribute to India’s timeless artistic legacy.
